Richard joined the club during the double winning season of 2004, before establishing himself as a regular in season 2004/2005. C
omfortable in a variety of positions across midfield and defence, his calmness, leadership and eye for a pass made him a vital part of Kaisayr through his time with the club.
A number of serious injuries had an effect on his appearances, during which time he missed almost two full seasons of football. During this time he assisted manager Eddie Main with team matters, and took on extra responsibilities off the field to ensure the smooth running of the club continued. He made a playing comeback in 2008/09 as he helped Kaisayr to secure their second Scottish Title.
At the end of that season, Rich announced his intention to leave the club and become player and manager at newly formed Troon IFC.
