Midfielder McNeill played for the club in two spells over 5 years, and excelled in each. A box to box midfielder, his work rate a
nd drive made him a regular in the double winning side of 2004. He left the side to venture into amateur football soon after, before returning for his second spell in which he was made captain. Gary spent a further season with the club, before amateur football came calling once more, as captain of newly formed Ayr United Amateurs. Due to other commitments, Gary announced his departure at the end of the 2008/2009 season.
A thoroughly popular player, who has rightly earned himself his place in Kaisayr history would certainly be welcomed back for a third spell should the opportunity arise.
