'Big Al' Jess was the first captain to lift the Scottish Title for Kaisayr. An outstanding acquisition for the club, and his expe
rience and knowledge of the game were vital to the club as they were crowned Double Winners in 2004.
A strong, dominating presence with a no nonsense approach to the game made Big Al a perfect foil for the more composed Paul Roseblade. His contribution didn't stop at defending, with the big centre half a serious threat in the opposition area, leading to 10 goals in only 58 games for the club.
Alan left the club shortly after the cup final, joining newly formed amateur side Ayr Parkhouse, before joining current side Ayr United AFC.
