Following a long career in the amateur game, Ronnie joined Kaisayr for their inaugural match, and soon established himself as a regular in the heart of the Kaisayr defence. His experience and ability were key factors in the progression of the club, at the time when the club was in it's infancy. A reliable performer, who loved the game, and especially playing (and scoring) against bitter rivals Kicking Squirrels of Kilmarnock.
Age got the better of Ronnie, and his retirement was announced. He wasn’t to be out the game long however, and was soon involved with Kaisayr again, when he was selected to replace the popular David Neil as manager. Kaisayr continued to grow as a club under Ronnie, with him, and long suffering wife Betty working hard to keep the club ticking over behind the scenes, while progressing matters on the playing front. His work was finally rewarded when he led the club to the Scottish Title and IFA Cup double in 2004.
Ronnie left the club midway through the following season after a major reshuffle to the playing squad, but the club was in a much healthier position at the end of its tenure, allowing it to progress to where it is now.
A Kaisayr legend, his time in charge will always be remembered as one of the golden periods in the clubs history.
