Harry played with the side as a tough-tackling centre-midfielder with an eye for a pass for a short spell in the early seasons.
His finest moment – and one that he still talks about to this day – came when he scored his only goal in a 6-0 win over Dynamo Doonhamers, the Queen of the South supporters side, in March 2002 at Cambusdoon. Unfortunately his son Wullie, who was down to watch the game, had nipped off to the toilet and missed his moment of glory!
Harry always saw Kaisayr as the opportunity to pull on an Ayr United shirt and play for the jersey, his only regret seems to be that he didn’t manage to do that a bit more often.
In more recent years, as proprietor of the Ship Inn, he has provided the club with a base and sponsorship, maintaining the links with the last club he played for.
